browser detection then redirection script

does anybody have a script to detect the browser then redirect them to another page? any help would be great.

have a look at the get_browser() function. www.php.net/get_browser

If it doesn't work you will need a custom php.ini in your dir with
browscap = ./browscap.ini

and download the current browscap.ini from
http://www.garykeith.com/browsers/downloads.asp

By default, the browscap directive is commented out.

This is also good for seeing if a crawler/spider is on your site.

Off the top of my head I can't be off any help. But if you want, you can read up on it.

For other resourses, do a search in google for "robots.txt"

The JS won't work for a lot of spiders.
Use the php way instead.

The JS was never intended for handling spiders, just for browser detection, and it can be done many ways. That was just a simple one.

The php code worked fine in my browser but when i had it spidered it didnt redirect the spider. My question is where it says crawler in your code I should replace this with the spiders names?

I just looked at my code and saw that the forum had added html around my new addr after Location:.

You need to remove the <a></a> bits that were added and just have the new addr.

It is probably better not to redirect the sipder but send out the info you want it to see using include(); as some spiders do not like being redirected.

I basicly want only the spider to get the meta data keyword ect.. can this be done with the include()? or is there some easier way then redirecting the people and leaving the spider alone? I dont have SSL or I would go that route. Thanks for all the help.
