image resizing

hey there guys,

ive got the following script that is supposed to resize an image that has been uploaded:

        system("djpeg $userfile >$tmpimg");
        system("pnmscale -height 100 $tmpimg | cjpeg -outfile >$newfile");

apparently djpeg decompresses jpeg to pnm, then it scale image using pnmscale and then pipe into cjpeg to output jpeg file - i have no idea what this means!

its not working! would someone be able to tell me what i need to do to SIMPLY resize an uploaded image?!?

ummm ok...

ican almost get it too work, but would the resizing of the image go before or after using a move_uploaded_file()
