date format problem

Hi!

i've got a field (lastDate) inside mysql db that show date, but it's not a date field, just a varchar field.

The date is in this format (dd.mm.yyyy)

Now I want to make a query ORDER BY lastDate but it won't work ... it take just the first character of my field so if i got :

27.07.2003
30.07.2003

... know what i mean ???

In order to do what you are wanting to do, you need to store it in one of two ways:

1) YYYY-MM-DD

or

2) Unix Timestamp
