Need help with an error

I've got apache running and using php. Regardless of what php file I try to load, I get this error message(from the apache log):

(13)Permission denied: access to /test.php failed because search permissions are missing on a component of the path

I'm quite new to php so I'm pretty clueless as to what this means. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What OS do u have? If you have *nix then you will have to set appropriate permissions on the files and directories.

If you have win32, try runnin the server as an admin.
