how do i read a postscript file and the show the output the browser?

Install Ghostscript and have it convert the file to a PDF, which should be supported by most browser installations.

well, my intention is to display the postscript on the browser like it is an image. if i convert it to pdf, the browser will open Acrobat Reader to view the pdf file. so is it possible to display the postscript without opening any other programs or can i convert it into jpeg or other image format?

There are several Unix software suites that will work in conjunction with GhostScript to convert PostScript into bitmap images in various formats. ImageMagick is one.

GIF support is unlikely due to license issues. JPEG is lossy. PBM is not supported by all browsers. Take your choice of problems.

so converting postscript to image formats is not very good thing to do, right? so i assume that pdf will show the most correct output than jpeg when comes to conversion. i'll fool around with imagemagick this week and see what happens. i think converting it pdf is an obvious choise here.

btw, how about bmp or tiff? is it possible? or not recommended...?
