Simple Q: Include wont work?

Can somebody please tell me why this doesnt work and how to fix it?

It's really simple. A problem with the include. Thanks for any help!

Is the file in the same directory as the page that the include statement is in?

I have a subdomain with all of my source files in it. The website runs over two domains and two sub domains, so I need to have it as a HTTP link.

I'm confuzzeled. Any takers? 😕

...You can specify the file to be included using an URL ... instead of a local pathname. ... This is not strictly speaking the same thing as including the file and having it inherit the parent file's variable scope; the script is actually being run on the remote server and the result is then being included into the local script.

No, it really is simple; when you specify a page via a URL, the URL is sent to the web serve,r run separately and the results the web server sends back are included.

If you want the code and not what it generates, specify the file using a filename, not a URL.

Hello Weedpacket. Somebody told me that it a problem with my include statement. I don't quite grasp what you are saying. What is the alternative to using a URL?

I have a page on bus.harriscoaches.com.au and the file is on src.harriscoaches.com.au.

So I gathered the only way I could access it over sub domains is with a URL. What is this other way you are talking about? If it helps, I'll tell you what the script does (or should do):

Variables are defined and then global.php is included.
Variables are used in print statements, like so:

print "<meta name=\"keywords\" content=\"$keywords\" />";

You can't include variables over [url]http://[/url] includes

This only inlcudes the output of the script.

You can't include variables from another site unless you want to return the actual code to be eval()'ed .

What is eval()? Does it allow you to use print statements and receive variables? Darn, I give up 4 2nite.

You are actually probably on the same host, just a different sub domain.

You need to use the server path to the code.

It worked. Thanks alot! This is the path I used:

/home/foo/harriscoaches.com.au/src/global.php rather than the URI.
