scrollbars

Hi.
there are some long pages in my website and some others short.
i would like to add a 'back to top' link but only on long pages. my idea was a if statement that is set true when the page is long enough to have the vertical scrollbar activated.
is this possible in php? or should i use some other language? any ideas?

it depend ... how page have u ... can you do it manually.

What i mean is that u can use this html tag :

<a href="top"></a>

on top of your page and on the "back to top" button :

<a href="yourpage.php#top">your img button</a>

... if you can't do it manually, i guess there's a way to detect if your page is enough long to add a "back to top" button.

nomad9: i can do that. But the thing i want to do is something like this:

if (scrollbars are enabled)
{
echo "<a ref="yourpage.php#top">your img button</a>";
}

but i don't know how to tell when the scrollbars are enabled
