[Resolved] copy() Command errors

Hi All

I get this error when i use the copy() function in PHP:

Warning: fopen("C:\Documents and Settings\Porkey\My Documents\Club Leisure Group\Documents\Word\CRI SA Website.doc", "r") - No such file or directory in /var/www/html/flexnew/admin/add_cruise_special.php on line 31

Why are there double backslashes ("\") in the path ?

check once more in your error message(the path). Seems like your trying to copy something from c:\..... while your script is looking in your web directory(/var/www/html/flexnew/admin/.... check out more on the function of copy() in the PHP-manual, and write the relative path(s) to the file you're trying to perform the "copy"-function on; that should do it.

Nah thats not it. I have tried that anyway, basically, i have a form with a file upload <input> on it, and it obviously derrives the path of the file from that, the weird thing is that it used to work and all of a sudden it stopped, makes no sense to me at all. We haven't changed anything that I am aware of on our web server.

Then i guess you should post some code to let someone look at it to try to help you. Or you could perform a search on the forum on "upload file" or something like that and compare previously posted "upload"-code to your own code to see what differs...

I'm not sure if the double backslashes make sense or not, since I dont work with a Windows servers.

still, maybe there needs to be stripslashes() somewhere in the script?

thanks laserlight, it stripped the backslashes out for me, so that has been sorted, but it still gives me the same error, but obviously with single backslashes now.

Here is the basic script that I use...

$path = "/var/www/html/flexnew/upload";
$newFile = stripslashes($file);
copy("$newFile","".$path."/".$newFile."");

I found my problem, i cant believe that i didn't even see it. I forgot to make the enctype of the <form> = "multipart/form-data"... silly me. Thanks for the help otherwise guys.
