Closing MySql Database Connection

Hi. I was just wondering if I need to close my database connections.

I connect many times to the database to get the required information, but I have never closed the database!

Will this slow down performance, or is it not necessary to close the database.

Please let me know.

For very large sites, then yes, this will hinder performance. On smaller sites, the degradation is minor. You should also remember that the database connection is automatically closed as soon as the script finishes executing.
