Filter query.......

ok, on this page...

www.uk-graffiti.co.uk/berks.php

you will see i have thumbnails that are pulled from mysql and paginated....

I have made a filter under the thumbnails, and this currently works, (sort of) and takes you to sorted.php

1st I would like the sorted results to be displayed on the same page, berks.php.....is this possible??

because the sorted.php page contains this query

"SELECT * FROM imagebase WHERE section = 'walls_berks' ORDER BY {$_POST['usersort']}";

this would mean for each thumbnail section, i would have to have a sorted.php page, im sure there is a better way to do this..

am i making sence???

it should be possible.

one way would be to use the query string to determine if the results should be sorted or not.
e.g.

berks.php -> normal
berks.php?sort=1 -> sorted

this is the code for sorted.php
It takes in "usersort" from the list box on www.uk-graffiti.co.uk/berks.php

which has 3 values (pic_id, pic_descrip and pic_area)
these are the fields i wish to sort on...

But i dont know how to alter this code so that all results come on berks.php

in this type of fashion berks.php?sort=1

In very simplistic terms, it would be:
