php neatness

Hey all I now have found out that I need to learn asp for a company project. I went looking around some asp sites and looked at some of the sample code and I must say that I think php does things a little neater then asp.

I mean this could just be the author but I was thinking that the syntax just looked neater in php as well.

Any hints for the php guy trying to learn asp while you are here?

Ive been programming in PhP for a bout 2-3 years and was forced (because of a new job) to learn how to program in asp .... Though asp has its +'s I still think PHP is the way to go for just about any situation ... the one reason I can see going with asp is if your dealing with / handeling enterpirse websites and intranets that run in tandum with other microsoft products .... if this is the case ASP and ASP.net is the way to go .... Otherwise my choice is PHP all the way 🙂 .... thats my $.02

Yeah, I've had to learn ASP and tbh, I don't think its as bad as everyone makes out. Sure, I prefer PHP, but thats probably because I started that one first and at more at home with C-style languages (rather than VB-style).

lanjorky - I couldn't agree more and that is the only reason they want asp - I would greatly appreciate any of the links that you have.

Do you by chance use opera for a web browser or some other?

not here at work I am stuck using IE - at home I use mozilla why?

was just gonna export my asp favorites and have ya import them (makes it easier) but I will just post the good ones 🙂 ...

LOL - I wish I could have them here - I have never actually used opera I have tested applications with it but never really used it for awhile maybe I should huh?

I use IE at Work to ( they wont let me install opera) but I am a firm believer in opera and love it .... very user friendly and has lots of added "featuers/gadgets" which is always fun.
