sending emails on Mac runing OSX

Can someone tell me how to setup Apache server or php.ini to be able to send emails from php script on the Mac under osX. do i need some kind of email server or just to activate something? anybody, please.

What you need, you already have. Sendmail, it's there, ready and waiting. The problem is apples permissions are very evil as far as sendmail is concerned.

You can get it to work, but it's going to take some reading. It's very picky, down to what version of os x and so on.
