I installed PHP (my scripts work on a PHP editor but not on a browser).
I read on PHP Installer !?!
If i installed PHP, i haven't forcely installed the installer ?
Is this the reason why my scripts won't work on a browser ?
if you are really green at working with this sort of stuff, you can go to www.foxserv.net and download the installer for apache/mysql/php for linux or windows, it will do everything for you
What if i work with IIS. I'om on Windows 2000
not sure, is there any particular reason you have to use IIS?
I\m doing this for my boss at work. That's all i have i guess
well php and mysql will work with iis, but i haven't done it and i'm not sure if there is an installer for it, so i would NOT tell my boss, and uninstall IIS, or disable it, then install the AMP configuration and let 'er buck...
I want to confirm something.
If someone has NEVER used php, he has to install php AND the installer ?
He has 2 things to install ?
the foxserv installer will install php, mysql(the database), apache(the webserver), Perl, Python, other things as well...
just run the installer and all will be good
Ok !
What info do i need to give while running the installer ?
I'm asking you this because i don't know much on my webserver besides its ip address.
don't worry, it will do everything for you, then you will only have to go to http://localhost to see your server
Where can i download the IIS php installer for Windows 2000 ?
Thank you in advice
if you insist on using IIS, you can check this out

I've merged the two threads together.
Makes the place look less cluttered...😃
