file upload confusion

I have just upgraded to php 4.3 w/safe_mode on and register_globals off on a windows machine, and my upload script is acting funny.

It uploads some files, but not others. I have two almost identical image files (taken from a digital camera, both jpegs), one will upload without a problem and the other won't.

When I do a print_r to see the image details it says the second image has no type or size even though I know it does.

Any troubleshooting ideas?

Are you checking the $_FILES['userfile']['error'] variable?

Maybe the file is just too big.
