MYSQL table Definitions

I want to create a table in my MYSQL DB but I'm not sure what to set the attributes to - such as "TYPE", "LENGTH/SET" etc...

Can anyone throw some light on this or recommend a website which is easy to understand?? I couldn't find much on the MYSQL.com website?

INT - normal sized integer between 0 - 4294967295 length: not required defaults to 11

FLOAT - floating-point number (such as money) length: not required; defaults to 10,2 where 2 is the number of decimals

DATE - a date YYYY-MM-DD format, between 1000-01-01 and 9999-12-31 length: no

CHAR - a fixerd-length string between 1-255 length: not requuired default=1

VARCHAR - variable length string between 1 - 255 length: Yes

TEXT - a field with maximum length 65535 chars, length: no
