Detecting links on a page

Hey all, is there a way to detect what links are on somebody elses page. For example. MY page is www.page.com and I want to find out what links are on www.otherpage.com/index.php. Is there a way that I can do this?

You mean you want to read in an HTML page and look for href attributes in anchor tags?

so what you want to know is the page that REFERED the user to your page.

That's easy enough check out the server variables section of the php manual.

no, i'll try and explain again.

I have my page with the php code on it and everything. From my page I open a new window with somebody elses page in it so my page is open and the new window that just opened has somebody elses page on it. I have no control over the other page. Now what I want to do is extract all the links off the other persons page not mine. So I will end up with a list for example:

home.php
members.php

etc......

So this is what you want this.... helps when one understands what they are asking for help in before they start saying "no" to every suggestion. I'm sure one of those links that weedpacket posted contains an example of how to use regexp's to extract the links from a page and reformat them to NON links or whatever other desires you have.....

Yeah, i've read these and cannot see how they relate to my problem because they are talking about using them on a page that you have control over whereas I don't have control over the page that I want the links off.

use fopen
read in the remote file
parse it the same way you would parse any text.

if by source you mean HTML, YES
if by source you mean PHP, not easily and not w/o causing trouble spending lots of time...
