Variables in $_GET

Out of curiosity, can you put a variable into $_GET?

Such as:

$var="parameter";
$param = $_GET[$var];

I've tried it, but it didn't seem to work. Although, considering my lack of knowledge of PHP, I'm not surprised that it didn't work. 😃

$var = "parameter";
$_GET[$var] = $var;

something like that can work

Ok, this time, I actually tested my example above, and it worked. So, forget I even asked anything.
