Creating & Saving Images

Here's what I'm trying to do.

Have a full size screenshot, say 01.jpg.
And I want to take it and automatically have a PHP script generate a say, 175x112 thumbnail.
And then save it as 01t.jpg

Obviously this would be a waste of code and I could just use Photoshop, but I'm interested in doing it with large volumes of screenshots.

So, my questions to all you great guys & gals is:

A) Is this possible.
😎 Any rough ideas on coding? (I can fix them up and make em work)

Guess there is even an article about that on this site. What you need is the GD library and those functions.

Or you could use "imagemagick" and call it via system()

Couldn't find an article on this site about re-sizing and saving images.

Yes, I know ... and I read through those articles and there isn't one that specifically covers resizing and saving images.

combine these articles with the manuals image functions.

1. to create images from other images:
   ImageCreate(), ImageCreateTrueColor(), ImageCreateFromJpeg(), ImageCreateFromGif()...

2. to resize images:
   ImageCopyResized(), ImageCopyResampled()...

3. to save images
   ImageJpeg(), ImagePng()...
