I need to create an updateable table

I know how to create one text box that allows for updates to a web site's text, but how do I create a table of information that is updateable.

Basically I want to create a backend display of a website's table, and allow the owner of the site to select one box of info at a time make changes then submit the changes to the different data all in one go.

I'm not sure how I should go about this. I need someone to give me some directions/ instructions/ideas of the best way to create an updateable table of information.
