I have so much respect for this man after hearing him live at the Gorge August 7th and 8th. My God! It was the best f'ing concert ever. Has anyone here seen him live? Anyone been to the gorge?
Besides being an amazing concert, the campsite was amazing; probably the best 3 days of my life.

Wanna see a kick ass live performance? Go see the Chemical Brothers. I went I saw and now I worship.
Couldn't hear a thing for a week though but totally worth it.
Old performer that really blew my mind was Nina Haggen circa 1992. She's a stage burner and as close as legally possible in a public space to a pornstar. She does things to her microphone OMG

I never was a BIG fan, but hearing him live completely changed my attitude towards him. Plus the gorge was amazing.
You're out in eastern washington (the middle of nowhere), so it's all mountains. The Columbia River runs through there. So you're sitting at this Gorge Ampitheatre, up really high, the stage is facing west, and you're just sitting on this grassy hill. Behind the gorge you see the mountains, with the Columbia River way way down there. The opening band plays, then, when Dave comes out, the sun is just setting over the mountains. It looks unreal. Plus, they do this whole light show that's coordinated with the music as it gets darker.
A lot of friends just went up for the parties who weren't Dave fans, and they made it up to the concert and now love his music. Also if you play any instruments, you respect their musical talent. Everyone in the band is amazing.

A friend went to see Robbie Williams a week ago in Knebworth (big concert arena north of london) and he said that it was amazing, even for Robbie (those who know him and remember Take That know what I mean)
I'd love to see the Chemical Brothers, but the band that I really wanna see is Evanescense (sp?). Their live gig is supposed to be amazing. Them or Alice Cooper

Oh, don't get me wrong, the setting would be wonderful, I have spent some time in Washington vaca'ing myself, and it is amazing out there. A far cry from Fargo, ND though, LOL. I would've loved to be there for the fun in the sun, but woulda had to wear ear plugs.
