as the subject suggests, i would like to add to the list of pre determined file type list in the FILE>NEW menu (when browsing files on w98)
i'm always creating .php files, and i find myself wasting a fair bit of time creating a .txt document then converting it to a .php file - it doesn't take long but when you create about 100 a day it'd be easier just to have .php on the list..... anyone have any ideas?
thanks
Dude,
This is an excellent question (and one that I'd quite like to know the answer to) but I think it's better suited for the Echo Lounge, so I'm sending it straight there...
In the registry I would think... I don't have the never to play around in there but I know using regcleaner you can remove things from that menu! I'll go look around..........

thanks jebster - you're a star.
the first article you gave me talks about a program you can use to add items to the new list, but i can't see where to download the program from... any help?
oh, piersk: np 🙂
thanks very much, regards
help? need a little help.... ^
i can't find anywhere to download the file that it speaks of... it almost doesn't exist.
apologies for the bump
Not sure where you got that idea from. It doesn't mention downloading any programs, it just says that you need to change some registry settings.
the link given by someone above is: http://www.listsoft.com/new/?tip=92 and the page quotes...
"First you need to do is to install the program"
maybe i've misunderstood what it says...
It means the program that you want the new file for (i.e word for a new .doc file)
:o thanks... l8rz
