Mail Formatting Messed Up By Yahoo

I have created a mailing list script which sends HTML-formatted emails. The emails received on my server's mail system '<username>@internetrenegade.net' have perfect formatting and look exactly as they should. However, I also have a Yahoo! account which I am testing with and Yahoo! ignors the bgcolor tags on my HTML email. Has anyone here experienced this problem? BTW, the HTML email is a fully valid XHTML document, nothing wierd.

yahoo does that for security reasons.

read archives of http://www.ntk.net/ , you will realize that yahoo also changes words like 'echo' etc to coffee etc.

Is there a any way to get around this? Or is this just a sacrifice I have to make? And btw, this is what the html file looks like:
