PHP and relational databases

When working with relational databases, does PHP recognise the relationship between the tables or does it see them as flat tables and use the SQL queries to relate them?

TO be plain and simple without the SQL language php wouldnt know what anything was with tables and databases.

So to answer your question, php isnt able to recognise relationships.. Thats why you need to learn SQL to be able to relate them in your queries.

A nice and easy way to use and learn SQL is to "instal" phpmyadmin, you can always see the SQL commands phpmyadmin uses, and learn from that... that's the way i have learned my basic SQl!
