This is a small question

plz open the site http://www.devguru.com in the netscape6.0+versions

you can find an icon in the address bar with the url you typed

how can we make the same for our sites

I think this is a good feature because we can place our logos as an icon

Make an icon file

.ico

and name it favicon.ico an dplace in root - most web browsers will grab from there if not you can link it.

I can't remember exact syntax but google favicon and you'll find it.

I think the link may be necessary. I recall a couple of years back when Microsoft came up with the "favicon" idea that so many site administrators got fed up with Internet Explorer's forever automatically requesting the "favicon.ico" file when there wasn't one on the site that they wrote a 404 handler that silently redirected any such request to http://www.microsoft.com/I/hate/favicon/requests.html or similar. I think Microsoft eventually got the message.
