Deleting email address and name from "mail archive"

I'm trying to reduce the amount of websites that my email address appears on, a long time ago i posted in the php-windows section. Is there some1 I can email to get these removed or add a trapper in. Its mainly spam and privacy reasons, at the time i didnt realise it would cause such a problem i now use trappers in my email when its posted publicly. Also if i could request that my name be changed, again privacy reasons.

uh what do you mean? it's not hard to turn off email notices from this site, and they dont send out spam. please be clearer as to why this pertains to phpbuilder.

can't you log in, go to your control panel, and find the thing that says something like "hide my email address"?

I posted on the newsgroups, there was no log in / registration.

Its not on this forum its on the main site under Mail Archive.
I dont have any control (to my knowledge) to remove those posts/ change the information on there.

aer you getting spam from people who saw your address on the archive list? and if it's the php mailing lists then i don't think phpbuilder has any control over them...

Indeed; even if it was removed it's unlikely you'll see any decrease in your spam levels. You'll be changing your email address before that happens.

Huh, the European Union is farting around with voting on software patents, what about the much more important question about whether spam is a valid mitigating circumstance for murder?

LOL so true. i'm lucky i get one spam every few months... up from non 6 months ago.

I'll live.

I wont be changing my E-mail address any time soon as i pay for my current one, plus its a 3 letter domain which im not letting go just because of spam. It would just be nice to remove it, ive been able to remove it from every other site it has been on so far.

Although thinking about it the posts I posted in arent very helpful to anyone and im surprised there is an archive that old, considering php has truely advanced over the years.

Any way, if it cant be done, it cant be done. Im definitely not saying that this is the main source of my SPAM, but i am pretty sure those nasty web crawlers do take my email from sites from time to time.
