Is it possible to search inbox for invalid email addresses and remove from my table?

Is it possible for a PHP script (or perl if it cant be done with PHP) to search my inbox for any failed emails that were sent and then remove them from my database?

sure, id say you can do it with sockets and connect to your POP3 server on port 110,or if you mean your shell mail, you could prolly open your inbox file (normally hidden in ~/ or in /var/mail I would guess and read through it and delete it... sockets would prolly be easiest for deletion though... just read up on the pop3 RFC

You'll need that to determine which server to connect to. domain.com isn't always the mail server for [e-mail] -- many admins use, for instance, mail.domain.com. So, opening a socket on port 25 to domain.com won't necessarily return the correct info.
