What do you prefer: functions at the beginning or at the ending of the file?

I just read that in PHP 3 the funcions should be declared before they are called. But in PHP 4 there is no restriction. So what do you think is better:

• Put all the functions at the beginning, and maybe help PHP to compile the file (or maybe not because maybe always do 2 passes)

• Or put all the functions at the ending, and this way the main code remains on top. I think the code is cleaner this way
