Upgrade from 4.1.1 to 4.3.2 need help.

I don't consider myself an expert so please be explicit with your replies, thanks.

I have a virtual dedicated server with an ISP and I want to upgrade php from 4.1.1 to 4.3.2 and add curl.

I have ssh root access and have a site with a mysql data base that I don’t want to mess up.

Does it matter if the current version is cgi or apache module based?

If so, how do I find out what I have and which type of instaill to run?

How do I make sure that I install curl with my upgrade?

Do I “upgrade” or just “reinstall” the later version?
