Is it possible to install PHP on a pocket pc handheld?

Does anyone know if it's possible to install PHP on a PDA running Pocket PC 2003? Is there a PHP resource available for this?

I doubt it. There wouldn't be enough memory to support apache and php anyway

I have a Dell Axim which has a 400mhz processor, 48mb ROM and 64mb RAM which is quite high for the specs for running Apache (I think). And it is possible to install them on the Sharp Zaraus which runs Linux on it.

I'm sure they'll be a windows version along sometime soon then 🙂

I suppose someone with a suitable compiler could take the source code and figure out which headers to hack to get it to build properly for the environment. I presume the existing Windows build won't run.

As for the memory, I run WAMP on a 486 (100MHz, 32MB RAM, 1GB HD) and it's also the computer I'm writing this message with. Any handheld will be much more powerful than that.
