In my personal life I have noticed that an exorbitant amount of programers are also role-players. I mean table top not computer. Computer role-playing games are only a poor imitation of the real thing.

So who here role-plays and what games do you play?

ugh! RPGs are a waste of time in my opinion.. i mena you're only playing the character while you play, and i've seen plenty of people get thei lives sucked up them.......and that's only the PC ones!

I prefer First Person Shooters, and especially Tribes 1, not 2, but am awaiting Vengeance

Not sure what a RPG really is! So I don't know if I play any! 😕 I play AOE2 but that is probaly something more like a RTS or something, and I LOVE FPS! I spend to way much time on nova world play DF2!

an RPG is a Role-Playing Game. Like dungeons and dragons, gurps, call of Cthulu, etc.

That's funny. I thought "the real thing" would be something along the lines of actually being some sort of wizard or fantasy creature or whatnot. 🙂

FPS for me and the more shooting the better😃
Just finished playing Vietcong which was great fun if a little un-PC(Politically Correct)

I'm a FPS guy, also. All I play is quake 3 fortress, since I'm in a clan. I'm impatiently awaiting Fortress Evolution, since the q3f community is really poor. fortress style games is all I can handle, nothing else is fun, expect ps2 hockey games, that's about it.

And so this isn't just a (computer) game, discussion, I also enjoy working on my car ('02 grand am gt), listening to music, watching movies, and that sort of thing. Hopefully I get a little bit more interesting after college is over and I have more time. 🙂

ya ever played Tribes 1, the whole jet packing thing really throws a loop in quake/unreal type games

I play old games on a crappy computer: RollerCoaster Tycoon and Worms2, and the occasional SimCity 2000. Sometimes SimTheme Park, but that really stinks!

Oh well, maybe I'll start playing real games sooner or later.

Yeah I tried it out, it was alright, a little too wide open for my liking though. I bought tribes 2 when it first came out and it was SO buggy, and I was on dialup, I didn't even bother getting all the updates.

yeah they finally got a none buggy version out a couple months ago and sold it for ten bucks, but now vengeance is coming out anyway next year so who cares

I have never really been into RPG's. My hobbies are all RL hobbies, such as playing pool in the APA, and watching movies.

As far as gaming goes... nothing in the world beats Grand Theft Auto 3: Vice City. Mmmmm... Apache Helicopter... 🙂

I play pool too, but in a bar league. It's easy to win by about 9:00 that way.
