decode/as

I am just wondering can the keywork "decode" and "as" use together?
When I use them together:
select requestor,requestorfirstname, decode(pcorderr, 1, 'PC') pcorderr as service

It can't output any result

Try this:

SELECT requestor,requestorfirstname, (decode(pcorderr, 1, 'PC')) AS service

I am just wondering what should I add to my select statement so that it only display the repeat record once?

select requestor,requestorfirstname, (decode(pcorderr, 1, 'PC')) as service
from pcOrder
where requestor='Joe'
and pcorderr =1

Not quite sure exactly what you mean... but if you are getting duplicate values, try using 'DISTINCT', as in 'SELECT DISTINCT requestor.........'
