[Resolved] Array Question

I currently have an array that is passing information regarding a specific bid. I would like to be able to total the amount due for the job. Is there a way to extract certain information from an array? I really don't understand arrays. I understand what they do, just not how to work with them. Anyway please let me know if you have any suggestions.

I would like to total the Fee to have a total amount due.

so you want to do something like...

$total_due = $bid[$cnt]['hours'] * $bid[$cnt]['fee'];

like that? 😕

question wasnt too clear.... or explanation rather...

with arrays... you can access via indices ie: $array[0] $array[5] etc etc.

or with keys.... ie: how your example above uses $bid[$cnt]['hours'] <- 'hours' is referencing that 'key' in the array to return its value....

Right now the array [bid_info] contains the date, hours, fee, fee type, and memo for each date. (ex. Date:2003-08-09, Hours:, Fee:$1000000.00 (daily), Memo:I must have a bagel and cucumber sandwich dangit. )

If the bid consists of multiple dates I would like to be able to add the Fee for each date together.

So bid_id isnt a unique field value? you can have multiple of the same ID with different info behind them that is?

Correct a bid_id can either be for a single date, or for multiple dates. That is where me dilema comes in. If the job consists of multiple dates then I would like to add the bid amount for each date together to get the totatl bid amount.
