Need ideas in developing a database driven website with php and mysql

Need ideas in developing a database driven website with php and mysql for my final year project.

Anyone with any suggestion on how I may proceed from here.

My ideas are as follows

1. Server's Information System

This system should be useful any organisation that owns server.

2. Online Pet Store

This website should allow pet owners to order pet supplys from the shop . Typically, I would believe a shopping cart needs to be implemented.

3. Online Plant Catalogue

This website allows searches on plants based on their family. Customers can order plants from this site. Typically, a shopping cart system.

I am running out of ideas but hopefully one of the above 3 is feasible and yet not so complex to stress a beginner like myself out.

BTW, I just installed fireserv, everything is running except that I still have not figured out how to connect to the mysql database from the .php file.

I always find that doing projects the professor or school can use net higher grades then comprable projects they cannot.

How about a web site that allows the teacher to input assignments with their details and due dates and also allows the teach to put in grades for projects and tests.

Students can log in and view their grades and assignments.

Throw a little forum in there too for discussions. Shouldn't be too difficult and should be very useful.
