link to another web address automatically

Hello,

I am not sure this is the best group to ask for this question.
This is the only greoup that I know of. Anyone please point me to another group if the question should not be here.

The question is that, how can direct the web page to another
web address. For example, there is a address
http://abc/index.html

When a browser points to the above address, I want it to go to

   [url]http://def/real.html[/url]

What should I put in index.html to make this happen.

Hm, thera are more than 1 possibility:

// per meta-tag (betwenn <head>and </head>
echo "<meta http-equiv='refresh' content='0; URL=url'>";

//per javascript:
echo "<script> setTimeout(\"location.href='url'\", 2000) </script>";

//or by header()-redirect:
header("LOCATION: url");

Is there a way to do this, and not have the URL, URI name change at all.
