Hi all, what do you think of a PHPbuilder knowledge base built from Resolved threads?
For example, Tekky and I were having fun with a project I was working on where users can type text into input1 and replacement text in input 2, and it automatically searches and replaces on the page permanently (with no database needed!). I think other people might have applications for this other than what I was doing, but they'd have to read through all the back-and-forth in my thread to figure it out. I intended to post a final summary, but haven't yet (which could be a central flaw in my proposal, if everyone were to use that excuse).
Wouldn't it be nice if in appreciation for the help I received here, there was a centralized place I could explain how to do it? And/or a checkmark where I (as thread starter) could mark and then type out the purpose of my effort and the final process it took to get it to work? Then if there were a way for folks to only search the checkmarked ones, they could see condensed answers, and might learn PHP more quickly and successfully too! (A side benefit is it empowers us n00bs a place to contribute back, since most of us can't answer many of other questions out there but are familiar with our own efforts and how they became successful) Thoughts?
Chris
P.S. - Here's another example: this person's post is 9 pages long so far and going strong http://www.phpbuilder.com/board/showthread.php?threadid=10251593. For the amount of time people have put into helping him, wouldn't it be great if he could offer a condensed summary and the code that accomplished what he was trying to do (a budget application), in one easy spot/thread?
