Getting url

Hello everybody,

I guess this is an easy question for most of you:

How do I get url from the page I'm just loading with php?

What I actually want to do is that I want to change always some
lines in my header.php file.
For that I have to know what url I have for the very moment.

$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']

$PHP_SELF just gives the file that your looking at
eg: index.php or somthing like that
even if your at index.php?id=4
$PHP_SELF will only show up as index.php..

if you want to get the full address:
eg: http://www.domain.com/index.php?id=4&page=contact
then you need to use this:

$HTTP_HOST = getenv("HTTP_HOST");
$REQUEST_URI = getenv("REQUEST_URI");
echo "current address is: http://"$HTTP_HOST.$REQUEST_URI;
