 oh you are so correct. i apologize....
it's really simple...
i have been meeting with some people who want me to build them a rather extensive e-commerce site.
i have been working for a university for years and, although i have always mapped out what i am planning for a site before hand, i have never had to turn in any preliminary time estimates, system specifications etc. (certainly not costs since i was being paid in peanuts). usually i just write the documentation so that it can collect dust.
i have all the information that one would need for a quote mainly development overview, stages, time-line, costs.... i just don't quite know how to format it.
my question - is there any format standardss?
i have dug around the web and really haven't found much .. only this link
How to write a basic web development proposal but it doesn't cover formatting. The article does however bring up another question as far as stating "Factor in the cost of the proposal" -- do companies typically get paid to write up a proposal or quote?
any advice is appreciated. perhaps i should have put this into Echo Lounge.
