usually we use the php with the windows platform, then is it possible the php intergrated with linux platform?

how about the code in windows platform , is it need to change some code or re - code it???

if a script works on windows most of the time it will work on nix and visa versa.. but some function that work on nix dont work on windows.... overall, it shouldn't require a total re-write of a script.

The major ones are
1:
fopen(), you sometimes need to specify 'rb' or 'wb' to read or write binary files on windows - not affected on *NIX

2: Any system calls probably won't work. Anything with exec, system, passthru or the backtick operator are likely to fail.

usleep() does not work on windows..

i believe flush(), sleep(), mktime() have also known problems.

COM is not available on Linux (we are talking about moving from Windows to Linux, here; not the other way around, as BlueMeteor spotted.) Haven't exhaustively searched the manual for other examples, since I don't know what extensions are being used or not in this particular case.

Generally speaking, though, the differences between the two platforms are situations where Windows doesn't have something that Linux does.
