Include statement

This is not working

Any reason?

where is the page location in relation to the file you are trying to include, the error means just as it says, no file or directory

It calls fine if it is not in a directory, like it works with

 <?php include'index.php'; ?>

no problem, but I want it in a folder!

well if

include 'index.php';

works, then

include 'calendar/index.php';

should work

unless you aren't giving it read privileges, which i am assuming you would be

Make sure your not adding a / at the biggining

add it something like this

include( 'home/xlordt/blah.php' );

notice i have no front slash at the begining of home

This is a path issue. You have a setting in your php.ini file that says:

include_path = ".:/usr/local/lib/php"

This means that when you enter

include ("bubba/file.inc");

that php looks first in ./ (the local directory), then /usr/local/lib/php or whatever you've got in your include_path.

So, it looks for

./bubba/file.inc

then looks for

/usr/local/lib/php/bubba/file.inc

Here's a clue...

Go to line 28 in the file /home/dawnhil/public_html/html/calender/index.p and start looking for something there. That is the line of code which is throwing the error. It appears as though calender/index.php is being included successfully, and throws an error upon its execution. Perhaps somewhere in the vicinity of line 28...?!

Been there. The code is throwing two error messages, the first error message points to line 28 in the calender/index.php file. Let's get that sorted out first.

Please, entertain my instinct with line 28 (or better, lines 1-28) of calender/index.php.

Looking at that page, it looks like an fopen or something similar is failing.

Not sure why.

Can you make a .txt version of the file (or better a .phps) that's getting the error available on that site?

strange, i get NO errors when going straight to the calendar/index.php page
