Question about links

OK, I want my database result to return as a link to another page, but I cant get this to work, can someone explain how to do this?

Also, would it be possible to have a set link for EVERY return, but add something on the end that comes from the database depending on wich link you clicked?

As far as your first question...

/*print the entry*/
print  "<td><a href='/next_page.php?forwho=$index'>$name</a></td>";

This will print a link to next_page.php.

The ?forwho=$index will send the variable $index to the next page (so that you can keep up with the entry on the next page)...

Finaly >$name</a> will actually print the value of $name as the link to click....

For example,

$index=1 (the index inwhich ron is contained)
$name=ron

This will print .... ron ..... (without the ....) as a link that will take you to next_page.php along with the index...

Hope this helps....for multiple entries just run it through a loop.

As far as your second question I didn't understand it....please clarify.

that helped on my first questiion, on my second, say my database is links to pictures and each picture also has in information page, and its like this

PIC # Pic
002 Pic2
003 pic3
004 pic4

now when i make a link it would be www.mysite.com/pic002 or pic003 or whatever, but the end of the resulting link would be pulled from the PIC# coulumn, i think I explained that right, so anyway it would always link to www.mysite.com and the /002 part would be detemined by th link you click

OK i got most of it worked out myself but i stll need some help, I have a DB with 3 colums, one of them in named ID. I have it so that the data returned is a link, and it has the link and adds the number from the id column on the end. Now my question, how can I make it so that it just returns the value of the db as a link WITHOUT putting the name of the link? By this I mean lets say on of the filed has the name John in it, the I would like the name John to show up on the page, as a link. Here is my code so that maybe It will clarify what i am saying,

echo "<TR><TD>".$myrow["name"]." ".$myrow["score"]."<TD>".$myrow["team"];
echo "<TD><a href=\"team_info.php?id=".$myrow[id]."\">Info</a>";
}

now notice it will return a link on the end that says Info that links to the team_info page. BUT I want to do away with that and just have the name be the link to the team_info page, but since its a loop i can't just specify what the name is like i am doing now.

I hope I explained that ok, i have seen this done but can't figure out how to do it
