Problem with Details page

I have a search results page which displays links that you can click on to bring you the details of that selection. When the user uses the back button to move back to the search results, they get this message (at least with IE):

Warning: Page Has Expired

The page you requested was created using information you submitted in a form. This page is no longer available. As a security precaution, Internet Explorer does not automatically resubmit your information for you.

To resubmit your information and view this Web page, click the Refresh button.

If they press refresh, they will get the results page back, but I don't want them to have to do that. What do I have to do to allow them to simply go back to the search results page they came from after looking at a details page? Thanks in advance.

Look for the following line in your php.ini file:

session.cache_limiter = private

Change it from whatever is listed after the equal sign to be blank:

session.cache_limiter =

Even though that is not listed as one of the options, it tells the browser to handle the caching of files which seems to solve the problem. The other option is to submit the form via GET instead of POST.

Thanks. That seemed to work like a charm. Unfortunately, I don't know what my future host's ini settings will be and I don't want to use GET if I can avoid it.

Well, if they don't give you access to your php.ini file I'd say it's time for a new host.

has a posting that worked for me in the user contributed notes section that states:

To get the best of both worlds: making sure form-values are cached, but pages are not (for example in a CMS with both auto-generated forms and content), use:

session_cache_limiter ('private, must-revalidate');

You can set this value in the config (php.ini):

session.cache_limiter = private, must-revalidate

or use the previous statement
