Ummm, about your breath......

Found this while coding a site, a health site. Thought it may be beneficial to someone.

Occasional bad breath (halitosis) is as natural as breathing itself. Indeed, you'd be hard pressed to find someone who has good breath all of the time, especially first thing in the morning. It's when breath is too offensive or chronically foul that there's cause for concern beyond the effect it has on your social life. The most obvious causes of bad breath, bad dental hygiene, smoking, poor diet, are easily treatable and should be attended to without delay, since they eventually can cause more serious medical problems. But other problems such as liver disease, lung disease, respiratory infections, digestive disorders, and kidney failure can all cause bad breath, as well.

And note that breathing into your hand to try and detect it does not work (it's like using a mercury thermometer to measure the temperature of its own mercury).

What does work is licking the back of your hand (a good Gene Simmons all-over-tongue job, not just a tip-tickle), waiting ten seconds or so for it to dry, and then sniffing it.

Sounds gross? I guess that depends on what you've been doing with your hand...

But if you find the idea of licking your own hand gross, I doubt your tongue ever goes anywhere it shouldn't.

or you could just keep breath strips handy and then anytime it may be important to have good breath pop on in and let if melt.

BTW: listerine breathstrips will fool a breathalizer if you're only a little over the limit.

That's a bit inefficient, don't you think? How many strips would be unnecessarily consumed over your lifetime?
