$_SESSION vars working on PC box but not on Sun box - HELP!

OK, so before I lose my mind 🙂 I've got a 3 page form that works great on my machine (win2000 IIS5 PHP4.3.2) and is not registering my session variables on a SunOS box PHP 4.3.1 where my site is hosted.

The code is attached and you can see it in action at www.alfo.org/SurveyMain.php

any suggestions would be greatly appriciated - and will help my mental stabilities 🙂

try using post instead of request.. i dont really have time right now.. to read all your code.. cause.. your code is pretty big & im about to go home.. in a few.. but.. i will try to go over it once i get home.. again.. i recomend using post instead of request.. request has its is not a good way to go

tried changing everything to POST/GET and no change.

I just don't understand how it can work great on my machine and not at all on another. and why is it that if I hit the refresh button enough times, sometimes it does show up. i't almost feels like a weird chaching problem.

I submit my data on the first page, get an empty page, hit refresh twice, the data shows up. If i go back to the previous page and add/remove categories, I will get the resaults of my first submittion, refresh twice, the new stuff shows up.

and this only works 1/2 of the time.

Tried talking to the webhosting company with no luck, all they could tell me is that as far as they can see thier php setup is working fine.

I know this is probably some silly little thing, but I just can't find it.

Is your os settup to accept cookies.. what happends when you do..

Javascript:alert( document.cookie );

see what it does.. cause i cant find anything wrong in your code

on my machine I get:
ASPSESSIONIDQARTQSAB=<a bunch of letters>; PHPSESSID=<a bunch of letters>

on the server I get:
PHPSESSID=<a bunch of letters>

If you want, I posted that and the phpinfo() on www.alfo.org/test2.php.

the page also cycles thru the sessions array and prints it out if it is populated. I used it as a error check between my pages, or I just check it after I hit submit and I want to know what's in the array. you get the idea....

Ok so then you have one good thing.. the session cookie is there.. so try to query the session variable in one of your pages.. see what ya get.. ( in your sever ) so its not really a session problem

btw make sure that you are passing the session id on each page

that's the thing. sometime i got exactly what I need in the session variable, and then sometimes is completly empty. if it is showing empty, i can hit the refresh button a few times and sometimes i will get the results i'm looking for. so I know that data is saved to the array, It just looks like the page is looking up the session array in its cache or somthing so it's not displaying the changes that were just made.

any suggestions?
