How do I retrieve whats selected in a <select> tag?

Access this:

</select>

Like this:

$blah = $_POST['blah'];

$blah = @$_POST['blah'];

$blah = $HTTP_POST_VARS['blah'];

$blah = $HTTP_GET_VARS['blah'];

If 'blah' doesn't exist, it doesn't generate error. So that way you can use isset().

I would suggest using $blah = $_GET['blah'];

in order to appease Jebs

$GET $POST $COOKIE $SERVER $_SESSION are all the normal methods of accessing the super global arrays now as opposed to using REGISTER_GLOBALS $varname or $HTTP_POST/GET_VARS['varname']

my answers assume the questioning person will take some initiative and and research the problem more. Why hand every little newbie their code on a platter? I worked for what I know... you can too... right?

not to mention he's already expressed knowledge of the new super gklobals so an explanation is rather pointless

$HTTP_POST/GET_VARS['varname'] can still be accessed with REGISTER_GLOBALS off.
