Needing a Forum on a Domain!

I might be in the wrong place, but I need some help.

I will be getting my own domain soon, and my wife and I want to run a couple forums. Is there general forum templates in PHP already established that I can download? If so which do I need? We need two forums exactly like this one with additional features (searchable gallery and facts database).

Or should I just pay for something like vBulletin.com?

We are not going to run our own server yet. I will be using a hosting company with over 200GB of room.

vBulletin is the expert choice.

phpBB is the "I don't want to spend any money but I like vB" choice.

I think what I'll do is play with the phpBB I downloaded and see how well I am it. I don't want to pay for anything unless I think my site will be large enough for that kind of support......
