Whats the best book to get for learning php, mysql and apache? or should I get seperate books of each topic?
I can program in html, c++, vb, java, cobol... so I'm not a complete newbie to programing 🙂
Thanks for any advice!
ultimately a single book for each subject will be the most indepth for each subject, however I do have a fairly good PHP/mySQL book, although I dont have the title on hand (its out in the car somewhere) I found it at Barnes & Nobles for like $30-40 last year.... I'll get the title when I go out (if I do tonight)
I never used a book to learn PHP. I learned the basics using an awesome tutorial on sitepoint by a great author: Kevin Yank, whose PHP/MySQL tutorials became so popular that he eventually published a whole book on the topic. While I haven't had a chance to get the book, I would assume its at least as high caliber as the great tutorials. Beyond that, the PHP Manual is probably the best manual I've ever seen for any language or anything else for that matter. You will definately need to become familiar with it, which is easy to do.
