Our company is looking for the right program or right person to write it. Our company is introducing a software program in early November. The program will be sold in CD format and also available for download from our web site. To distrubute and protect our program we are considering the following steps.
From our web site the customer can purchase the program by credit card, for CD shipping or download from the web.
After completing a database form with their pertinent information the program would download.
After installation the program (built in link to our site/page) would ask the customer to register. Our program is now running and the customer connects to our site via the link.
A registration code is sent automatically via email. The customer enters the code and the progam is now activated.
On our end we want to save the customer information in a database with their activation code, username and password. If they need to reinstall they connect to our site and with the user name and password they can be automatically emailed their activation code again.
The above is the basic operation that we have in mind. If anyone has any suggestions we would appreciate it.
