Some Help With Chat

I was jsut wondering before i go any further is is possible to make a chatroom in PHP as i need one to fit my needs as many of the ones i get off the internet either take to long to load or i dont have admin rights to kick people so if i could make my own one then i could make it to my needs but first of all i need to know wether it is possible in PHP as i know it is noramaly done in Java.

makin chatrooms in php is easier than making it in java.. and lot of tutorilas already available fro that... but java chatrooms are better than php !!..however it takes java to load..but i find it better than php room !!:p

yeah ok thanx ill jsut stick to Java and try and find a good one on hotscripts or sumin like that
