Undefined Variable Notice

I just finished installing Apache/PHP/MySQL manually on my windows xp pro system. Now I get this message on every page:

Notice: Undefined variable: a in c:\SERVER\page.php on line 5 Notice: Undefined variable: a in c:\SERVER\page.php on line 191

Is something configured wrong in my php.ini file? Because teh same pages work the perfectly on my webhosts server.

MUST CHECK THAT LINE in c:\SERVER\page.php file, locate where it 's pointing to.

U could dedect the error via the logs file under logs/access.log and error.log.

Have closely the same issue. Win2k/Apache2/PHP 4.3. I have a test server set up and the html passes the variables to the php script and the user is validated or not. When I run on the WIN2k
I receive

Undefined variable: USERNAME in c:\Apache2\htdocs\login\password.php on line 13

My configuration files for apache and php are up here as well as phpinfo.php. This has to be something that I am not seeing within this configuration.

Duh- didn't have register globals turne don and therefore my code was failing. The default used to be on and this new version turns them of in the php.ini file.

You should try to code with REGISTER GLOBALS off .
