Searching fields for multiple data

Say I wanted to search field1 for data1 and data2 at the same time. How would I do this?

To be more specific, if I have a select/option list and someone selects two or more choices to search for, how would I get it to search for all of the choices and display them?

Ok let me back up a little and start out with an easier question. How do I store multiple choices from a select/option menu? I have it set up to accept multiple choices just don't know how to store them both.

I think you could use something like this:

Ok I have that part down but I have yet to find out how to search for multiple values in a field. Let's say someone ctrl + clicks multiple options from a select list and hits search. It should then bring back any rows that match either one of those values to that field. It sounds easy but I have searched all over with no luck.
